“Growing up, I was in great shape. In school, I played every sport. My Mom was in charge of my nutrition, which made being healthy easy. However, life happened and as soon as I graduated, I got a sit down job. I began to eat through my feelings, and I, inevitably, started gaining weight.  Fast forward 20 years, and my weight was out of control.  My husband and I had split up and I had given up on life.  For the next two years, I didn’t cook, I didn’t exercise, I just didn’t care. The only reason I went to work, was to keep a roof over my two AMAZING kid’s heads.
Last November, my 17 year old daughter asked for a gym membership for Christmas. I tried to sign her up, but because she is under 18 years old, she had to have a guardian sign up with her.  I, begrudgingly, signed up.  Don’t get me wrong, I was interested, and I wanted to lose weight, but didn’t think I was ready. I am a single mom and every dollar counts, so, if I am going to pay for a membership, I should probably use it. That was November 2015 and now, on March 21, 2016, I am down 80 lbs. I have a long way to go, but if it wasn’t for my daughter pushing me, this beautiful gym, and the super nice people in it,  I would not be successful with my weight loss journey.”
